The chilly weather can’t seem to cool off the red hot Hawks who opened the month with 2 wins this past weekend. Saturday night, the boys travelled to Whitby to face the Wildcats White team. Sunny Fanjoy started the scoring early in the first period with an assist by Ty Turpin. The second period was all defense, as the boys on the blue line helped Dryden Riley keep the shutout intact. The defense provided the only scoring of the period as well, as Holden Webster connected on a pass to Nate Sills who finished the play netting his first goal of the season!! ‘Silky’ Sillsy would also pick up an assist in the third period on one of two goals scored by Avery Wease, the other goal assisted by Fanjoy. Jack Andrews would put the final nail in the coffin on an assist from Owen Ferguson, to ultimately finish the game 5-0.

In the Sunday Home game, the Hawks hosted North Durham for their third and final matchup of the regular season. A relatively quiet first period with an early goal from Ferg assisted by Fanjoy. Three more by Keagan Carr, Ethan Kenney, and Wease with helpers from Dex Slone and Ferg, with 2 goals from the North Durham squad would put the score at 4-2 heading into the final period. Three more goals by Kenney, Fanjoy, and Wease, assist by Andrews, Lordy, and Kenney, and one more by the Warriors would culminate in a convincing win with a 7-3 final.

The Hawks are heading to The 35th Tournament of Champions in Stoney Creek this weekend. Let’s Go Hawks!!
