Hawks Go 2-2 At Bell Capital Cup
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks put in a solid effort going 2-2 this weekend at the Bell Capital cup and missed going to the quarter-finals on a tie breaker as they were tied for 8th place after round robin play.

On Friday the Hawks opened the tournament with a 4-2 win over the Leitrim Hawks. Scoring goals were Brendan Reid(2), Connor Boates and Eli Kenney. Assists went to Gavin Armstrong, Owen Vis and Reid. Cooper Martin was solid and picked up the win in net.

In their second game the Hawks came up just short as they gave up 3 goals in the third period and lost 4-3 to the Nepean Raiders. Pearson MacDonald, Jakob Harnest and Vis scored for the home side while Matt Hicks picked up 2 assists.

On Saturday morning the Hawks played in a defensive battle against the West Carleton Crusaders and fought till the end picking up a 2-1 victory. Reid and Tyson Gregory picked up the goals with assists going to Boates and Harnest. Martin once again stood tall and got the win in net.

In their fourth and final game the Hawks could not get the offence going and fell 3-0 to the Mississippi Thunder Kings. Noah Groeneveld had strong game in net holding Mississippi scoreless until the final 5 minutes of the game.

The Hawks resume their regular season this weekend when they host the Clarington Toros on Sunday.
