Hawks Take 3 of 4 Points This Weekend
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks skated away with 3 of a possible 4 points this weekend.
On Saturday the Hawks got the weekend started on the right foot as they played a great all around game beating the Ajax Knights 7-3. Brendan Reid led the attack picking up 3 goals and 2 assists. Other goals came from Connor Boates, Gavin Armstrong, Owen Vis and Tyson Gregory. Picking up the additional assists were Boates (3), Armstrong(2), Aiden Haker(2), Jakob Harnest(2) and Eli Kenney. Cooper Martin was solid in net and picked up the win.
On Sunday the Hawks would come up against a much tougher opponent in the Clarington Toros. After taking an early lead the Hawks held on until the third period before the Toros tied it up. Both teams had numerous chances to win the game but solid goaltending at both ends saw the game end in a 1-1 tie. Tyson Gregory scored for the Hawks with Harnest picking up the lone assist. Noah Groeneveld had a strong game in net.
The Hawks have a busy week coming up. They travel to Pickering on Thursday to take on the Panthers. On Saturday they host the Whitby Blue Wildcats and then they finish the weekend with a road game in Ajax on Sunday.
