Hawks Pick Up 3 of 4 Points
The Rhino Hockey Training Atom Hawks picked up 3 of a possible 4 points with a tie and a win this weekend.
On Saturday in Pickering the Hawks played a solid game but could not find the net early. Pickering took a 5-3 lead with two minutes to play but the Hawks did not give up and scored two goals in the final 13 seconds and the teams skated to a 5-5 tie. Goals were scored by Tyson Gregory, Aiden Haker, Gavin Armstrong, Pearson MacDonald, Brendan Reid. Assists went to Armstrong(3), Colby Wiersma(2), Jakob Harnest, Connor Boates and Eli Kenney. Noah Groeneveld was between the pipes.
On Sunday the Hawks traveled to Peterborough and picked up where they left off scoring 6 seconds into the game and never looked back. They beat the Petes 6-3. Armstrong led the offence with 2 goals and an assist. Other markers came from Reid, Gregory, Boates and MacDonald. Picking up the additional assists were Matt Hicks, Connor Kokonas, Quinton Bogart, Boates and Reid(2). Cooper Martin picked up the win in net.
The Hawks are off this coming weekend before getting back into action the following weekend against Whitby and Oshawa.
