Hawks Fall to Toros in 5 Games
The Rhino Hockey Training Minor Atom Hawks lost their first round OMHA playdown series to the Clarington Toros in five games.

With their backs against the wall on Saturday the Hawks played their best game of the series downing the Toros 3-0 to tie the series at two. Quinton Bogart, Tyson Gregory and Colby Wiersma scored for the home side while Gavin Armstrong, Connor Kokonas, Matt Hicks, Connor Boates and Bogart picked up assists. Alex Bisset was very strong in goal getting the shutout victory.

On Sunday the Hawks traveled to Clarington for a winner take all game five. The Toros had them on their heels early taking a 1-0 lead in the first period and added another goal in the second period to take a 2-0 lead to the third. The Hawks cut the lead in half early in the third but could not find the equalizer and Clarington sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 17 seconds to play. Bogart picked up the lone goal for the Hawks with Armstrong getting the assist. Bisset had another strong game in goal.

The Hawks will now move to the Lakeshore League playoffs where they will face the Oshawa Generals in the next round.
