Hawks Fall to Stars in OMHA Quarter Final
The Klemencic Homes Atom Hawks lost a hard fought five game series to the Uxbridge Stars.

After splitting the first two games last weekend the Hawks went to Uxbridge Friday night and dropped a 4-2 decision to the home town stars. Michael Dolton and Jack Lowry scored for the Hawks with assists going to Eamonn Deery and Lowry.

With their backs against the wall the Hawks returned home Saturday looking for a win to send the series to a fifth and deciding game. In what was one of their best efforts of the season the Hawks stormed out to a 3-0 lead before holding on to defeat the Stars 3-2 after two late third period goals made it close. Scoring for the Hawks were Lowry, Daniel McLeod and Dolton while Lowry, Deery, Ben Davy and Mac Slone picked up assists. Seamus Killeen got the win in net.

Sunday the Hawks travelled to Uxbridge for the fifth and deciding game. The teams traded goals in the first and second period heading to the third tied at 2. In what was a wild finish the Hawks came up just short falling 6-5 to the Stars. The Hawks trailed 6-2 with just under four minutes remaining before they mounted a comeback that came up one goal short. Lowry scored 2 goals to lead the offence while single markers were picked up by Geoffrey Boates, Deery and Dolton. Davy had 2 assists.

The coaching staff would like to pass on how proud they are of this team who had a great season and never quit right until the end. They will now refocus and look to pick up their third consecutive Lakeshore League title. There opponents in the Lakeshore playoff semi-final round robin will be the Pickering Panthers and Lindsay Muskies. The schedule has yet to be set.
