Hawks Jump Out to a 2-0 Series Lead Over Wildcats
The Klemencic Homes Atom 'A' Hawks got the start they wanted in their second round OMHA playoff match-up.

After splitting the season series the Hawks have taken the first two games of the best of 5 series.

On Saturday Quinte West got the start they were looking for by scoring 2 early goals and never looked back on their way to a 5-2 win over Whitby. Hawks goals came from Eamonn Deery, Jack Lowry, Justin Bolduc, Keenan Wiles and Ben Davy. Assists went to Mac Slone, Lowry, Jakob Gardner, Deery and Shane Jerrett. Seamus Killeen was solid in picking up the win between the pipes.

On Sunday the Hawks got off to another quick start taking an early lead but the Wildcats came back with two goals early in the second period to take their first lead of the series. This would not last as Quinte West stormed back with four unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead which looked to put away the win but Whitby would not go away. They scored 3 unanswered goals of their own to tie the game with just under a minute remaining. This back and forth game saw yet more wild action in the last minute as the Hawks were awarded a penalty shot that was stopped by the Whitby goalie before Lowry fed Michael Dolton with a breakaway pass that he converted into the winning goal as the buzzer sounded giving the Hawks a 6-5 victory and a 2-0 lead in the series. The game winner was Dolton's third goal of the game. Other markers came from Deery, Davy and Lowry while assists went to Wiles(3), Lowry(2), Slone, Jerrett and Geoffrey Boates. Logan Vale picked up the win in net.

The Hawks will look to close out the series this Friday night when they host Whitby in Frankford at 7:30pm. If required they will travel to Whitby on Saturday and return home for game 5 on Sunday in Trenton at 4:30pm.
